    • Our newest attorney, Tom Spetnagel Jr., handles some select matters in the area of family law. These include:

Dissolutions: In Ohio, a husband and wife can end their marriage without the hefty legal fees and lengthy delays associated with a divorce by opting instead for a dissolution. Dissolution is a process in which both parties cooperate in signing a separation agreement, which is a legal document that sets forth the parties' mutual wishes concerning the division of their marital property and the custody and care of their children (if they have any).

Divorces: If a dissolution proves to be unattainable, parties can always end their marriage by seeking a divorce. Divorce is a court action in which the person filing for divorce alleges that his or her spouse "breached" the marriage contract in one or more ways. Generally, an action in divorce addresses such issues as: the division of marital property, the custody and care of the couple's children (if they have any), and, if relevant, payment of child support and spousal support.

Agreed Custody Modifications: Parents who are subject to a custody or shared parenting plan can petition the court for a modification if both parents agree that it would be in the best interest of the child.

Adoptions: Adopting a child can change the life of the child and the adopting parents for the better. We can help ensure that the process runs smoothly and efficiently.
