Thomas M. Spetnagel Sr. is a native of Ross County, Ohio and a graduate of Bishop Flaget High School. Mr. Spetnagel holds a B.S. from The Ohio State University, a Master’s Degree from Emory University, and a J.D. Degree from The University of Cincinnati. He has also done graduate work at Ohio University.
Mr. Spetnagel has practiced law since 1975 with an emphasis on Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury/Death litigation, Medical Malpractice, and Criminal Defense. He is licensed to practice law in all courts of the state of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the 6th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Spetnagel is a past trustee of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Ohio State and Ross County Bar Associations, and a Life Fellow of the Ohio Bar Foundation. He has obtained, either as counsel or co-counsel, multiple settlements for clients in excess of one million dollars.
In addition to his private practice, Mr. Spetnagel has served on numerous local boards, including the Ross County Children’s Services board, the Ross County MR-DD board, and the Chillicothe Civil Service Commission, as well as serving as an instructor at Ohio University, Chillicothe branch.
